Background: Mary was born into a very normal world. Her only family being her father, who raised her as a doctor who ran a hospital. In his spare time, he worked with a man who called himself Van Hellsing's descendant attending to those who had been turned into vampires. Mary, however, had no idea of this and went on with her young life. She attended Kings College for three years to get her undergrad degree, and in that time made friends with a girl named Lilly Shaw and her brother John. Mary had begun to date John and in her last year of school, Lily meant to get married to a man named Quincey. Only it seems that the man was (is) a vampire, and knew all too well who Lilly and John were - they were related. After attempting to marry Lily in Bulgaria in the home of his family (which sadly resulted in Lily's suicide) Quincey disappeared and John was turned, to head the family. During the ceremony, Mary had rescued an infant from the vampires clutches and whisked her away to England with her. John decided to keep tabs on Mary, even going so far as plant two moles in her life. One who posed as her best friend and another who posed as someone who was interested in a romantic relationship with her.
After having lost Lily and John, Mary was only too happy to accept them. The only thing standing in the way of Mary having a normal life again was Quincey, who came to her with the plea to help him stop killing humans in order to live. During her time helping him, she began to fall in love with the man, it was then that the two impostors killed her father unbeknownst to her.
In the summer before her postgraduate schooling, Mary had decided to take time off from school. It was then that John made his plans to torment her clear and when he revealed his two helpers identities. Quincey helped her escape, and in doing so killed everyone but John. Now Mary waits for John to return and finish the job. And prepares to stand up to him.
Personality:
Mary is a studious young woman who still employs kindness and care to her patients and anyone who she considers her friend. However, with the dark turn her life has taken, Mary has become increasing paranoid and easily anxious of strangers and the dark. Vampires have taken everything from her, and she is still not sure what to think of them despite Quincey being her ally.
